Nationally touring acoustic jazz band
So, we are definitely having some interesting animal encounters on our southern leg of the tour.
some kind of coyote (or was it a jackalope?) threw itself in front of us at 2 am on a back southern road travelling between gigs, and then in Awendaw, South Carolina, a goat ate our set list just before the show!
Scottie says he never before felt like such a rock star…. I think that goes without saying for the rest of the band too.
Catch album on facebook here. Oh yes, and “like us” while you are there too!

What a spectacular time we had at The BlueBird Cafe in Nashville, TN. Thanks Yuki for joining us too!

Last weekend, we played one of our newest songs, an instrumental called “Song for Vrba”. The Canton audience loved it and it really made our night….
The story behind the song is about Rudolph Vrba, a prisoner who successfully escaped The Auschwitz Concentration Camp during W.W.II. He was able to make his way to Budapest. Instead of going into hiding which was his safest choice, Rudolph went to the Jewish Council and told them of the atrocities he witnessed and the tens of thousands of murders occurring daily. It is estimated by doing so, Rudolph Vrba saved as many as 120,000 Hungarian Jews and people the Nazis considered “not fit for life”.
This song is a bit sad, real fast, and mysterious, but definitely musically touches upon the challenges and drama of such a great and heroic escape.
We’ll be playing this song, and several other new pieces while on tour this winter. We’ve got lots of shows starting in February, so please check our show list and come on out for some new Gypsy…….
